Who Should Avoid Waxing and What Are the Alternatives?
It’s totally normal to second-guess whether waxing is right for your skin, and knowing when to pause or skip it is a sign of good self-care. At Haus of Wax, we take waxing safety seriously, which is why every appointment includes a skin check and a review of anything that might interfere with your results. There are a few conditions where waxing isn’t a good fit, including current use of Accutane or retinoid creams, active eczema flare-ups, open wounds, or recent sunburn. If waxing isn’t ideal for you right now, options like trimming, shaving, or laser hair removal may be a better fit depending on your goals and skin type. These scenarios are more common than you’d think, and checking ahead of time is always the right move. If you're still unsure, you can get answers to common waxing questions in our client-friendly FAQ.
What Should I Know About Waxing Appointments in St. Cloud Before I Show Up?
Everyone’s got a few “uhhh... is this normal?” questions before their first wax, especially when it comes to timing, prep, and what the hell we actually expect from you. Wondering if you need to exfoliate the night before? If you have to shower first? What happens if you're a few minutes late? All valid. At Haus of Wax, we’re big on keeping things clear, chill, and zero judgment. Ask the questions, even the weird ones; we’ve heard it all. And if you’re still deciding what service fits your needs, check out our menu breakdown so you’re not guessing. We’ve got you.

We also carry pro-level skincare to keep your skin happy between visits and offer simple add-ons to level up your service without the upsell pressure. Whether you’re booking a quick cleanup or the works, you’ll get expert technique, proper prep, and aftercare guidance, and a vibe that feels more like hanging with a cool friend than a clinical appointment.

Yes, we are by appointment only. And if you're planning your wax around a major event, it's best to book as far in advance as possible. Most regulars book their next visit as soon as they are finished with their current appointment, just to lock it in. Advanced booking gives you the best shot at your preferred time.

We totally get that life happens. There’s a 5-minute grace period built into every appointment, but anything past that means we have to reschedule your service. We want your wax to feel calm, not rushed, and we also want to respect the time of the clients booked after you. As we all know, summer is the time for road construction, so please keep road closures/detours in mind when coming in for your appointment and allow plenty of time in case you get rerouted.

Mid-afternoon is the best bet if you're hoping for a quieter experience. If you're coming in for your first time wax or tend to get nervous, don't worry. Everyone at the studio is extremely friendly and understands what this business is all about.

Sometimes. Cancellations happen, and we try to fill open spots with clients who have been waiting. Our booking site offers a Waitlist option where you can add your name and your preferred days/times. If something opens up, we reach out right away. You can always call or text the studio to see if something is open for the day! (Same goes if you're trying to prep quickly for a trip or special event.)
